Roland's revolutionary GP-100 Guitar Preamp/Processor puts a variety classic amps within instant reach. Roland's innovative Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM) technology allows the GP-100 to faithfully emulate tube amp tonal characteristics to create natural distortion and full-bodied sustain. The GP-100 will deliver incredible sound, with virtually any amplifier ... or none at all, using the direct line out. The DSP (Digital Signal Processor) gives you comprehensive control over amp sounds as well as a wide range of onboard effects. The GP-100 is really the only piece of equipment a guitarist needs -- for a single amp gig, concert use with a large-scale PA system or recording. Adding the FC-200 MIDI Foot Controller lets you operate the GP-100 smoothly without interrupting your performance.
All your favorite vintage tube amp sounds.
-----------------------------------------
The GP-100 uses COSM technology to effectively combine the latest DSP techniques, like electronic modeling for recreating amplifier circuit configurations which use tubes, and magnetic modeling for recreating transformer and speaker characteristics. This technology faithfully emulates the distinctive sounds of yesterday's favorite tube amps like blackface twin reverbs, screaming British stacks, clean studio 12" amps and of course, Roland's famous JC-120 Jazz Chorus amplifier. It even offers various speaker configurations and microphone placements. Controlling preamp parameters, using the front-panel controls, is just like operating an analog amplifier. The GP-100 has two volume controls, three tone controls and a presence control.
High-quality onboard effects.
----------------------------
A wide range of powerful digital effects are provided -- from reverb, chorus and delay to unique intelligent pitch shifting, ring modulation and slow gear.
The GP-100 instantly provides you with great sound via six preset algorithms, each combining up to 16 effects. Effect combinations and sequences can be changed as desired.
Multiple connections for versatile applications.
-----------------------------------------------
Two send/return loops make it easy to connect external effects for additional processing. Two stereo outputs afford independent access to two separate amps. You can also send parallel outputs to an amp and a mixing console. The various setting configurations can be stored as patches. Two external control jacks allow channel switching for the connected amp. The on/off settings are also storable as patches.
FC-200 MIDI Foot Controller
---------------------------
The versatile FC-200 MIDI Foot Controller provides hands-free control over the GP-100, as well as effects units, sound modules and guitar synthesizers, without getting in the way of performance.
* A supplied expression pedal allows realtime volume and parameter control.
* The FC-200 lets you access over 128 patches directly through Program Change and
Bank Select messages. You can easily recall and select the GP-100's 200 preset
patches and an additional 200 user patches.
* Transmits MIDI system exclusive messages for editing GP-100 parameters.
* Dual power supply -- battery or AC adaptor.
Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM)
Once a musical instrument generates sound vibration, it reaches human ears through various mediating objects. Each object significantly affects the sound. Material and configuration of the instrument, electric/electronic/magnetic amplifying system, air and reverberation of the room all affect the final sound.
Sound modeling, the latest DSP technology, "virtually" reconstructs these objects. Roland's innovative Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM) uses the advantages of multiple modeling methods and succeeds in accurately emulating existing sounds, as well as producing sounds that have never before been physically created.
